About Howard Arndt
Howard is pursuing his passion for photography after careers as a basketball player, engineer and aerospace executive. Howard is a nature photographer who has taken many courses and workshops from professional photographers in the Adirondacks and studied with internationally recognized nature photographers.
Howard and his wife Marcia reside in Amherst, NH and at a family cabin on Union Falls Pond in the Adirondacks.
Artist Statement: Howard’s goal with photography is to artfully capture wildlife in a way that the viewer feels the essence of the animal. Hopefully, helping the viewer to experience the beauty in nature and convey the responsibility that we all have to conserve our natural resources.
Howard began his serious pursuit art photography of the wildlife and landscapes in the Adirondacks. Observing the resurgence of the Bald Eagle population in the Adirondacks stimulated Howard to obtain better and better photographs of our National Bird. Now Bald Eagles have become Howard’s specialty although he enjoys studying and capturing photographs of other wildlife. He has expanded his pursuit of wildlife across the country from the Adirondacks south to Florida, to the Western U.S. and north to Alaska. Also, he has ventured to Kenya and Tanzania on a three-week photo safari and to the Galapagos Islands for over a week.
